Alison is the author of the children's book Tasi & Matina. She was born and raised in Yigo, Guam and later moved to Hawai'i. Although she considers both islands to be her home, she is invariably a Chamorrita and is proud of her hapa haole heritage.
After graduating from Castle High School in Kane'ohe, Alison enlisted in the Army (1998). She served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a diesel mechanic while attending the University of Northern Colorado. During her tenure at UNC, Alison was an active member of numerous Pacific Islander and Native American student organizations as well as Army ROTC.
Upon completion of her BA in Psychology with minors in Multi-Cultral Anthropology and Military Science, Alison received her commission as an officer and entered active military duty in the Army Transportation Corps (2002). Her duty stations included Missouri, Maryland, Virginia, Korea, Georgia, and Iraq. After eight years of service, Alison left the Army as a Captain (2006). She made her way to Southern California to begin her journey in civilian life.
Alison graduated from National University at San Diego with a BS in Nursing (2010). She currently lives in Southern California with her husband where she works as a registered nurse.
Alison is also the designer and creator of RaeBow Originals handcrafted jewelry. Her work is undoubtedly influenced by her world travels and experience throughout the Pacific, Asia, Europe, Central America and across the U.S.
